Ninja World Story: Kumogakure, Ninja Village with the Largest Military Force

Kumogakure, Cloud Village hidden in this State of Lightning is a very militaristic ninja village! Let's peek their history here!

In addition to Konohagakure, there are four other ninja villages that are part of the 'Five Great Ninja Villages' of Naruto's world; one of them is Kumogakure. As a member of the five great villages, Kumogakure not only became a village that stood at the end of the Civil War but also held a great power until it had a highly respected reputation throughout the ninja world.

Let's try to reveal a glimpse of Kumogakure's history, the ninja village that stood in the following Lightning Country!

Kumogakure is a hidden ninja village located in the State of Lightning. Founded by A the First Raikage after the Civil War era, Kumogakure takes its place in the high mountains covered with clouds. So far there are five Raikage who became the leader of this Cloud Village. In accordance with its place in the State of Lightning and living in high areas, the majority of Kumogakure ninja master the Lightning Element technique; with a fraction of them then studying advanced techniques such as the Black Electric directly from the Raikage or kekkei genkai Element Storm.

You could say they initially tried to establish a good relationship with Konohagakure. Not long after Kumogakure Village stood, Hashirama Senju as the First Hokage sold two Tailed Demons to the village. Then entering the era of Raikage and the Second Hokage, they had attempted to make a peace agreement between the two ninja villages; which unfortunately is plagued by Two Brothers Kin and Gin, injuring and almost killing Tobirama Senju the Second Hokage.

Until finally when the First Shinobi World War broke out, Konoha and Kumo were on the opposite side with the Kinkaku Force successfully killing the Second Hokage. The two villages re-fought during the Third Shinobi World War, in which Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage of the future, often faced A, who was elevated to the Fourth Raikage after the death of the Third Raikage (and A's father) against 10,000 enemy ninja for three days three nights non-stop.

The Strong Side of the Kumogakure Military

Unlike other villages, Kumogakure greatly upholds military power and is always looking for ways to increase the strength of their village armed forces. As the rest of the villages reduced their troop numbers and made peace treaties in quiet times, Kumo often quietly did not follow them in order to always have an edge if the war was to happen again.

There are three main strategies of Kumogakure to gather strength: stealing other villages' secrets, kidnapping ninjas that have advantages from other villages, and collecting Tailed Demons.

A few years before the Third Shinobi World War, they tried to kidnap Kushina Uzumaki to study his special chakra but the plan was thwarted by Minato. After the Third Shinobi World War, Kumogakure sent the Ninja Chief to Konohagakure in order to sign a peace treaty; which turned out to be only a cover to steal the Byakugan from the Hyuuga Clan. The event is remembered as the Hyuuga Incident. Then years later, they again tried to steal the Byakugan when Otogakure attacked Konoha, but his plans again failed.

About the Demon, before buying the Hokage offer, they had commissioned Kinkaku and Ginkaku to seal the Nine-Tailed Demon using Five Rikudo Sennin Treasures but it was not successful. After getting the Two and Eight Tailed Demons, they are called often failing to control the power of the monsters; especially the Eight-Tailed Demon that often goes berserk when its Jinchuuriki is not able to withstand such a stealthy power. However, thanks to the experience, Kumogakure is considered a ninja village that has the best methods and 'technology' to control the Tailed Demon, where they managed to create a special temple capable of withstanding the tantrums and chakra of a stealth ensnared inside.

The Fourth Shinobi World War and Kumogakure in the New Era of Boruto

Although the stubbornness of Kumogakure made them unbelievable by other ninja villages, the threat of the Fourth Shinobi World War Akatsuki made the Cloud Village one of the parties who vehemently opposed the evil plan and immediately joined the Shinobi Alliance. Their military strength also made the Fourth Raikage appointed Commander of the Supreme War and Kumogakure Village designated as the main headquarters of the Alliance.

But it was also the one who made them the greatest impact before the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War - in order to paralyze the Shinobi Alliance's strength and center of strategy, the Ten-Tailed Demon fired Bijuudama into Kumogakure, killing dozens of lives of ninjas and residents there as well as some of their villages.

After the war, Kumogakure and the whole village of ninja have a close relationship and succeeded in creating world peace. But their 'military expansion' never seemed to stop. When Toneri Otsutsuki threatened to drop the moon to Earth, the Kumogakure fired a secret weapon in the form of a gigantic chakra cannon to destroy the moon that had shocked the Kage
